Hello, welcome.
My name is André de Oliveira Ravagnani, some call me Rav, and I am a lifelong learner and a dreamer. In this blog, I will share my vision of the world, my dreams, thoughts, analyses, actions and solutions in order to make the planet a better place.
I believe it is possible for us to create a new world. A world with less social inequality, less poverty and better quality of life. With less violence, less discrimination and more equality. With more harmony with nature, more biodiversity and less environmental degradation. There is an urgent need for human beings to live sustainably with nature. We need to be sustainable in all walks of life and as quickly as possible, otherwise the earth and the human species will be in danger with the passing of generations.
There are many problems in all sectors. Some solutions are easier, some are more difficult, and some are still technologically and economically far from viable solutions. One of the great barriers is the resistance to change, evolution and free market competition from minority groups that have the power and dominate the market today. Centralized and closed governments contribute to a regulatory system that, in many cases, works to defend interests of small groups. And generally, those who suffer the consequences are nature and the economically disadvantaged.
We need to get rid of fossil fuels. We need to make agroecology the only way to produce food. We need a clean energy matrix. We need to use natural resources in a cyclical way. We need a world without poverty. And achieving this feat will not be easy. Maybe it will take decades, many generations or that unfortunately the human being will never get there. I particularly prefer to believe and be part of this change.
Personally, I am on a long and eternal journey of evolution towards making my life more sustainable and reducing my environmental impact, directly and indirectly. I’m far from ideal. However, on an imperfect path, I seek constant evolution in my actions and dream of self-sufficiency. For me, the solution lies in the hands of individuals, not in the hands of governments. We cannot wait just criticizing and hoping that things will change in the future. We need to do our part. Change comes with time, not suddenly. What matters is the direction each one is heading. Today I am a completely different person from who I was years ago.
Professionally, as a developer and social entrepreneur, I follow the mission of making agriculture sustainable in the world with Sintrop. With an open source // open source // project that unites agroecology with blockchain technology, on the Ethereum, to create a decentralized certification system for rural producers with a mechanism to encourage agroecology through the Sustainable Agriculture Credit token (sustainable agriculture credit token). The more I dive into the topic of decentralization, the more optimistic I become with the possible solutions of this form of organization and relationship between human beings.
